All are welcome to Tulsa Community College’s “I Can’t Workshops” beginning on January 22nd! Each free event is hosted in the Thomas K. McKeon Center for Creativity, Mondays from 12-12:40 p.m. All supplies are provided.

 

I Can’t Sculpt with Gilcrease Museum
Jan. 22: Transform a piece of clay into your own creation that you can take home.

I Can’t Turn Wood with Northeastern Oklahoma Wood Turners Association
Jan. 29: Learn to turn using a wood lathe, shaping a piece of wood from square to round.

I Can’t Dance with Tulsa Ballet
Feb. 5: Learn the basics of dance in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. No experience or special shoes required.

I Can’t Drum with The bART Center for Music
Feb. 12: Drum up some fun on traditional African drums using your hands and a mallet. Registration required:

I Can’t Screen Print with Hardesty Arts Center
Feb. 19: With all the prep work done beforehand, all you’ll need to do is grab a squeegee and get printing.

I Can’t Create with The Woody Guthrie Center
Feb. 26: Channel your inner Woody Guthrie by creating small sculptures just like he did. Please bring small
found objects that are meaningful to you.

I Can’t Sing with Tulsa Opera
March 5: Even if you can’t carry a tune in a bucket, get a behind-the-scenes look at creating opera from
professional opera singers.

I Can’t Emboss Glass with Tulsa Glassblowing School
March 12: Design paper cutouts that will be fused to glass, creating a kiln carved tile. Your piece will be fired in the kiln and ready to pick up at Tulsa Glassblowing School after a few days.

I Can’t Decorate with Living Arts
March 26: Learn thrifty ways to decorate using pieces you already have and bringing the outdoors in.

I Can’t Connect with Greenwood Cultural Center
April 2: Through an art project centered on historical photographs, learn how the rich legacy of Black Wall Street, the devastating 1921 Tulsa Race Riot, and the resurgence of the Greenwood District impact our city today.

I Can’t Marble Paper with Philbrook Museum of Art
April 9: Create your own dazzling abstract art using the paper marbling technique.
